:: Sentencing Serial Killers
  Sarah MacLeod & Stacey MacKinnon
University of Prince Edward Island
  I am currently conducting a study in the area of the sentencing of serial killers within the judicial system, and wish to recruit participants over the age of 18 interested in taking part. The study will consist of an online survey in which you will be asked to read about and evaluate one case study about a serial killer. The study will take approximately 30 minutes of your time. Our hope is that this study will help us to better understand the factors that affect the sentencing of serial killers. Participation in this study is completely voluntary. You may stop your participation in the research project at any time, without penalty or prejudice. Your responses are anonymous and will be kept confidential. This research project has been approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Department of Psychology, as a subcommittee of the UPEI Research Ethics Board. Any concerns about the ethical aspects of your involvement in this research project may be directed to Dr. Stacey L. MacKinnon, Chair of the Ethics Committee, Department of Psychology, telephone (902) 566-0402; email:
